Margarett Conklin Ellison, M.D., Joins Piedmont Gynecologic Oncology

ATLANTA (July 01, 2009) – Piedmont Gynecologic Oncology welcomes Margarett Ellison, M.D., who will be joining Alfred Jenkins, M.D., beginning July 9.

Dr. Ellison comes to Piedmont from Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Sunset. She is board- certified in gynecologic oncology and general obstetrics and gynecology. Dr. Ellison has special interest in laparoscopic management of gynecologic malignancies, radical pelvic surgery, robotic surgery for benign and malignant gynecologic surgery, as well as management of breast cancer.

She earned her bachelor’s degree from Emory University and her medical degree from Mercer University in Macon, Ga. She then completed her residency and internship in obstetrics and gynecology at Carraway Methodist Medical Center and the University of Alabama at Birmingham in Birmingham, Ala.  Dr. Ellison also completed a gynecologic oncology fellowship at Brown University.

Prior to joining Piedmont Gynecologic Oncology, Dr. Ellison was a gynecologic oncologist and partner at Pacific Gynecologic Specialists in Pasadena, Calif. She also served as assistant chief in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology of the Brooke Army Medical Center in Fort Sam Houston, Tex., and general surgeon in the 10th Combat Support Hospital of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
