Dr. Edwards earned her medical degree from the University of South Carolina in Columbia. She completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center at Shadyside, where she served as chief resident and as clinical educator for the coronary care and intensive care units. Dr. Edwards also served as the Vice President of the National Student Medical Association. Prior to earning her medical degree, Dr. Edwards was a registered nurse at Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina. She has over twelve years of previous nursing experience. Dr. Edwards specializes in internal medicine. She is a member of the American College of Physicians, Society of Internal Medicine, and the American Medical Association.
Dr. Edwards takes a “holistic” approach to caring for her patients. She believes in treating the whole person. Although she enjoys all medicine, her special interests include weight loss programs and women’s health. In her spare time, Dr. Edwards enjoys outdoor sports, spending time with her three sons, and staying active in her church and local community. She is also an avid football fan.
